The Society runs a programme of events from September to May/June the following year. Apart from AGM, which takes place on the third or fourth Tuesday in September, the Society usually meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 7.45pm from October to April in the Lakeview Suite, Craigavon Civic and Conference Centre, Lakeview Road, Craigavon - close to Rushmere Shopping Centre.
Our AGM is followed at 8.00pm by the Atkinson Lecture which is open to the public. This lecture was named to commemorate the Atkinson family of Eden Villa, Portadown and, in particular, Major Thomas Joyce Atkinson (pictured left) who was killed in action at the Somme in 1916 during the First World War. Commander Basil Hearn, who had married a Ethne Holmes, a descendant of the Atkinsons, made a generous bequest to the society in the 1980s and the interest from this bequest helps fund the Atkinson lecture.

We have an annual dinner each year, usually on the first Tuesday in February and, in recent years, this has also been held in either the Craigavon Civic Centre or Brownlow House. In May, we have an evening outing on a Tuesday to an area of historic interest, usually a short drive away.
At the end of May or beginning of June we have our annual Saturday outing by coach to somewhere a little further away, generally alternating north and south of the border. In recent years we had an excellent tour of Dundalk Museum, Monasterboice, Mellifont and the Boyne Centre, Gracehill and the North Antrim Coast. Annual outings are open to members of their society and their friends (space permitting).
